The McKenna Foundation's inaugural fundraiser, the Buckets for Babies 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament, marked the beginning of a series of initiatives aimed at making a tangible difference in the community. The McKenna Foundation joined the Joseph Maffeo Foundation in their project to build a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit facility in the brand new Women and Newborn Center at Staten Island University Hospital. The tournament was a smashing success! Held at McKenna Foundation’s founder, Brian Terzian, alma mater St. Peter’s Boys high school, it featured eight teams battling it out to win the first ever Buckets for Babies championship. The afternoon produced a great showcase of talent and competition, but most importantly raised an unbelievable $38,000 for the Joseph Maffeo NICU Project at Staten Island University Hospital.
